I'm not sure if they take reservations. We were there on a weekday very early afternoon and they qere not busy at all.
Yes
Food was good. Service little slow, but not intolerable. Nice quiet atmosphere for lunch. Prices average.
I was extremely happy with my meal. I struggle to find good food in CT. It's just not filled with the butter, sugar and grease that you find in Texas BUT this satisfied me. I do wish I didn't order through waiter wheels, only cause I know piping hot food straight from the kitchen would have been amazing. I had calamari, fish and chips and the bread pudding. It really hit home.
best irish pub in the hartford area, the shepherds pie is great and the Guinness is poured right and i have been to ireland so i know. if your in the area check it out.
Great place to spend an evening. The bartender is really friendly and if he knows you are from out of town he will recommend local happenings.
Wow. Wow. Wow. Fish and chips was perfect, the chips for it are crispy and delicious. Braised short ribs was fabulous! Cooked perfect, and wonderful taste. You MUST have the famous cheesecake. Skip over the brownie- you can get brownies anywhere but this cheesecake is PERFECTLY DELICIOUS. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Even gave advice for our road trip we were taking. So glad we stumbled upon this place!! We will be back, even though it's an hour and a half away from home!
Reasonable prices, food was delicious, downtown Hartford, good Irish fare.
Awesome Shepherd's Pie. Very fresh Cesar Salad with rich dressing. The Guinness Stout is served in a custom glass. The kitchen is fast. The place has a nice Irish ambiance. The only negative was no quick follow-up after the meal was served. Seems to be the norm these days. Oy Vey.
Great atmosphere, love it! Drinks are delish and I do like cheesecake but theirs is FLIPPING AMAZING!!!
Great little spot, open till midnight on Sundays unlike anywhere else in Hartford. The food is super good!! Drinks are flowing, would go again!
Try their Irish Cream. They make it in house and taste like creamy chocolate milk!
Was in Hartford on business and my regular spot was closed. Good thing too or I never would have found this gem. On a side street sits this narrow slice of heaven. What delicious food! The bar tender was courteous and had great conversation. The food is Irish and it is so tasty. If you're in Hartford, check them out!
Nice little spot for a beverage or two, but tight seating arrangement. Service was ok/decent.
Im very happy to have found this place randomly. What an awesome atmosphere. “Public Houses” are a dime a dozen, but this is easily tops of all the ones I’ve visited from Northampton down to new haven. Beer selection was good but I don’t remember seeing too much on tap. Overall a great bar with a great atmosphere!
Great service, super sexy bartender
Service is great and the selection of Irish pub food to pub favorites is awesome. Prices are decent, atmosphere is cool. Thanks you guys!
Always a great place for a couple of pints and some tasty Irish fare. Love the Shepherd's Pie! Plus was pleasantly surprised to find that Tuesday's are $3.00 pints!
Waitress forget soup order, took 20 minutes to get 1 cup. Dinner took over 45 minutes and when my HP Stout tips came out the meat oreded as well done, came out medium with blood all soaked into mashed potatoes. Sent back only for them to come back out back charred .
We visit every time we go to Hartford. Love this place
Good bar food with the plus of Irish specialties. Very busy, bit accommodating wait staff.
Burger is good. Love this place.
A bar that hasn't fallen completely for the IPA craze....yay!
I had the Cod, and Chip, it was cooked perfectly. The bartender Jay was friendly, and quick to check on us. The price was just right. The lighting, and atmosphere were perfect. Great Irish pub would recommend it to anyone. This was my third visit always a great place to stop in. It does get crowded sometimes, but it's worth it.
The menu and service were beyond my expectations. We truly loved the atmosphere of this place. Wonderful spot to take my family out for dinner.
Very good food first time having lamb stew
Food was delicious, service was very slow. Waitress that evening couldn't handle the load of people in her area. Possibly shortstaffed. Great time with friends regardless. Worth a try.
Gem on Pratt Street. They make their own Irish cream, and it is delicious! Friendly and attentive bartenders. Vaughan's is one of my local Hartford favorites.
Meal was not great. Meat tough hardly no veggies. Just not good
Vaughn's is the perfect spot for a quick bite and brew. Very warm and cozy and always welcoming. PS do yourself a favor and get their house made Irish creme. You will forget what bailies is (is that how you even spell it!?!?...see)
The food was delicious. It took a while to get but well worth it. It was super busy but the waiter was always around so if we needed something we would just ask him. I would definitely go back.
Vaughan's is a very convenient place in downtown Hartford. Whether there for lunch, or to catch a game, it's a good choice. Casual dining, friendly service and ordinary fare make this an easy choice to grab a meal.
What a great place!I love the Irish vibe of this place. I do not live in the city but am able to visit a few times a year for work. I always make it a point to go to Vaughan's! It has been wonderful over the past 3 and a half years to walk in and still see Jay the bartender! An incredibly friendly face and fantastic bartender! Tonight we had the pleasure of not only the very friendly waiter Connor waiting on us, but the owner as well. It's great to see that he is so Hands-On. Both he and Connor are full of jokes, which is nice and you feel at home there. The three of us ordered their very delicious French fries which never disappoint , potato skins which are pretty basic in the potato skin area but good, baked brie wrapped in philo dough was sooooo good, and the clam strips were yummy and also surprisingly served fries as well. Can not wait for my next visit, I always feel so welcomed here, a little bit of home when I can't be home. :)
We like a lot to go out. Yesterday we went to this excellent place which we didn’t know before. We passed a beautiful evening there with first-rate cooking and a professional team and an impressive cook. We put this venue in our list and we will certainly visit again soon. Highly recommended.
I thoroughly enjoyed going to Vaughan's. I absolutely recommend their Irish cream. It's not on the menu but they've got it. The good and service are outstanding and the drinks were the best I had in Hartford. This place is a must, and is one of the better bars amongst the large amount in the area.
Great Irish Pub with authentic Irish food or American fare. Atmosphere is unique with cozy covered tables, a mezanine, wooden bar and great service. One of my favorite places to go in Hartford.
We came out for dinner. Appetizers to coffee and dessert everything was really good. Service was awesome!!! Very happy this is the spot we decided to go to for our friday night dinner. Had a really good recommendation and it did not disappoint!!!!
A great place to get a bite to eat and a pint!Large place to spread out and hang out with friends and family. Great Irish fare, as well as some American dishes. A Must stop if you're in Downtown Hartford, CT.
Don't order the corned beef sandwich, chicken sandwich or any mixed dink; burger looked great though (another in our party had one) corned beef sandwich would make any Irishman cry; a slice, one single slice, of DELI corned beef on soggy bread with not evan half a schmere of thousand island & kraut. I sent it back, and had another beed instead (the beer is good). I'll go here to drink beer and have burgers, nut nothing else - frankly, better options in the area (city steam for example).
This restaurant is excellent and roomy, the food was delightful and the rates were very inexpensive. rapidly, efficient service and very affable waiters. Will definitely recommend this restaurant.
Some folks get deterred from coming to Hartford because of the parking. There's some street parking and a lot near Vaughans and it's worth the trip. Not only is the food great but the atmosphere is amazing. Watching a sporting event such as soccer or Uconn is lots of fun. Don't forget to check out their bar which is from Ireland.
I had a pleasent experience here. I ordered the Shepard’s Pie, Guinness Stew, and a Guinness Brownie. I have to admire the food quality, the taste of the food was homemade and savory, and had a unique pub flavor to it. Vaughan’s is definitely going down as one of the best pubs in the Hartford area, if not one of the best in the state.
last night was our first time we came to that fine restaurant. But It is definitely not the last. We enjoyed the evening very much with the efficient service, with the first-rate cuisine and fine drinks and with the honest payment. We will absolutely return there again.
Delicious Irish food and a cozy pub atmosphere.
Food was awesome cute place to eat. Friendly patrons
Nice bar of you want to hang out with friends and enjoy a conversation.
Great spot to go is you're for a good spot to eat where the vibe is chill, there is great selections on the menu and the portions are a great size too. reasonable prices.
This spot is my favorite. I go to a lot of restaurants but to this place I go the most. The team is very affectionate and the cooking they offer is so flavorful. I would always prefer to have a nice dinner in this restaurant. I recommend this place with pleasure.
Good drinks and good food. We came in as a group and we did not have to wait long at all to get our order. Can't really ask for more can you?
Great place to hit before going to XL center. Quaint bar with upper and lower levels for seating. Menu has great selections and good portions. The staff is very friendly and would definitely go there again when in town.
Ate here for lunch. The food was good and decently priced. They had a good selection of beers and a nice list of cocktails. They do have gluten free options and things suitable for vegetarians but I don’t advise eating there if you follow a strict gluten free diet. Overall a nice little pub.
Food vg, good beers, bar awkwardly not facing any TVs, but somehow the place still is comfortable
